Christina J. Garner - Henry the Bookbinder

This project at the University of Connecticut revolved around creating a narrative for a character and then the space in which they inhabit in 1/2" scale.

This is an homage to Henry Bookbinding in the Lower East Side. I found his space so charming and full of rich texture that I wanted to capture it in this tiny room.

Henry is one of the last bookbinders and his artistry and love for the skill of bookbinding is mind boggling. He is the definition of a master and it's as though bookbinding comes as easily as walking.
